The commercial printer can do a really good job with your party invitations. That is because the commercial printing company has good quality machines that can print high quality materials at a very high speed. The problem is that it is not cost-effective to have small quantities printed by a commercial printer.

If you have a big party, like for example a wedding, it would be nice to have your invitations done by a commercial printing company because of the quality of the material and of course the printing. And at least you can most probably meet the minimum requirements for the printing because you have a lot of guests to give invitations to.

However, if you are just going to have a small party, like kiddie birthday party that will just be held at your home, then most probably, you will just need about ten to fifteen invitations only. And this will not qualify at the commercial printer. Or even if they will accept your job, it will be very expensive because they will have the same amount of preparation for just a few copies of the final output. Ten invitations would just probably need five sheets or at most ten sheets. And that is not suitable for commercial printing. Even if the printer has a sheet fed commercial printer, it is still not viable.

Your best bet would be to go to desktop publishing booths that can be found in malls. They can accommodate small orders and the prints will be done by a laser printer. At least the quality of the prints will be much better than those made by the inkjet printer that you have at home. And since they are a print shop, they will be able to provide you with different kinds of special papers to choose from. You can have boards of different colors, with or without patterns, while others come with scents. They have a lot of these paper stocks because they offer this service specifically and so they want to give their clients many choices.

Your other choice would be to do your own layout and to have your invitations printed at the photo lab. Use Adobe Photoshop for your design and make it in high resolution so that it will come out good on the prints. Just save your design in .jpg format and save it in a CD or thumb drive. You can then bring this to the photo lab for processing. You can ask the personnel there for technical assistance in uploading your files into the system. They are trained to do so and would be happy to oblige your need for assistance.

You have many options for your party invitations rather than going to commercial printers for your small orders. While they can accommodate your small orders, it just would not be economically feasible for you to have your invitations processed by a commercial printer. But if ever they have a laser printer, they can accommodate your orders through laser printing. Don’t fret about your invitations, there are just so many things that you can do if you just make a research online or make a few phone calls. Or even if you just go to the mall, you will surely encounter a small desktop publishing shop who will gladly do your invitation job.
