There are various styles of Chocolate Wine offered in different alcohol levels, making use of various production processes. Every has it's place on the rack. There is some credibility in the concept of a chocolate wine group. Analysis has shown about a dozen various samples of chocolate wines based on a selection of characters.

There seems to be two primary varieties of chocolate wine and in these two classifications there is a variety of flavor profiles and kinds. The two main chocolate wine categories are cream derived and non-cream derived. So far, there are 4 non-cream derived brands and 4 cream-based products. choco X, Chocolate shop, Ficklin & choco dman are all non-cream products. Cocoa Vino, Chocolate Shop, Cocoa di Vine and ChocoVine are all cream-based products.

Non-cream derived brands of chocolate wine are essentially wine infused with chocolate flavors. They are usually translucent and have a viscosity slightly heavier than the wine that it is created with. These wines are even more commonly come from the vineyard that makes the wine. In other words an additional product offering from a particular winery, yet in the chocolate wine space.

Cream based brands are more noticeable in the bottle. They tend to be "chocolate milk" looking in nature and are unmistakably not translucent. These brand names have a tendency to stand on there own and there are many flavor varieties offered depending on the producer. Chocolate shop, ChocoVino, Cocoa Vino & Cocoa Di Vine are all chocolate wines formed together with cream.

Trying the flavor of these chocolate wines was a suprise. They were very good and generally the quality was excellent.

It appears that the wines are mis-named. Calling them wine (strictly from the measure of alcohol) is a mis-nomer. The wine aficionado is not the individual who is going to move towards this type of alcohol beverage. Even though as soon as they sample a very good one, they will certainly emerge as a supporter. But such wines are clearly just not a stand-in for a goblet of regular wine. Chocolate wine is inclined to be a soon after dinner aperitif, and might be served cool or warm. The general technique for their use might be that of Baileys Irish cream or Kahulua.
