Virtually every medium and large sized business has an IT system that is designed to send and receive information both internally and to the outside world. When problems start to plague an IT system, it's important that an IT solutions team get to work quickly and resolve the issue. Larger companies and organizations usually have employees who handle IT solutions for all the different departments, while other businesses will outsource. Either way, IT solutions are an extremely important part of the operation and security of most businesses when dealing with IT problems. Many common IT problems can threaten to disrupt the business operations, or even the business itself, depending on the nature of the problem.

Reduced speed of your IT system is one common problem that requires IT solutions. If every aspect of the system, or even part of it, is running too slowly it can affect the day-to-day operations of the business, not to mention frustrate employees. Speed problems that require IT solutions may include issues with keying in data, loading screens or forms, sending emails or other online processes.

Integrity of the system is another IT problems that call for swift IT solutions. When data that is in the system or coming from the system has an integrity issue, it means that it is unreliable, which requires IT solutions before it becomes a more widespread issue.

If the IT system doesn't know what happened in the system yesterday or another time in the past, the problem is with the history. A business needs to know what is happening today, yesterday and look ahead to tomorrow, and if the IT system doesn't allow for that, some repairs need to be made. Sometimes, the system will be recording the history fine, but is also keeping status flags that aren't being updated at the proper time. The IT solutions process is necessary so the history mix up doesn't affect too many days worth of business activities. Storage space is also a common IT problem, where the overall data on a computer system is too big to store efficiently. This often happens when redundant data is being stored within the system. IT solutions will have to rearrange the data so the redundant data is no longer stored and space is increased.

When systems in the same enterprise can no longer communicate with one another or share data, IT solutions must change the configuration of the interface or use some other method to rectify the problem and allow for networking once again. Of course, security is one area where IT solutions must be very quick and effective. If the system and its data are compromised, sensitive information could get into the wrong hands and the business could be in trouble. If people have access to the system that shouldn't, or if typical safeguards aren't working, information within the system could be at risk and IT solutions must be used to restore the proper level of security to the system.
