The season has started with a significant even in the world of cell phones and other electronics. The CES conference that took place this month unveiled some brand new cell phone deals which will hit the market in the following month. One of the major announcements made was the one from Microsoft.
A representative from Microsoft has made several comments regarding the future software programs from Microsoft. The most interesting statement was that Windows Phone will come with Skype functions.
It is well known that Microsoft has bought Skype more than 6 months ago, but not a word was mentioned about the merge between Skype and other Microsoft products. Today, the company has made a genuine breakthrough on the market and statements that will offer new communication features on all the handsets that will use its operating-system.
Sadly, the next version of Windows Phone known as Tango will not get this update. Therefore, all the cell phone deals that will use the brand new OS will only get minor upgrades and will not benefit from Skype. The total Skype update will come with the version called Apollo. It is not known when this variation will be released because work on it is not done.
For individuals who have a cell phone that uses the current Windows Phone 7, Microsoft will launch a Skype app that will make your mobile phone compatible with the popular features of Skype. It will be easy to use this app only if your phone is equipped with a front facing camera like the one for 3G calls. For those who have an older phone then you will not be able to use this ability.
The representatives at Microsoft also said some things about Windows 8 and Xbox. It is said that both products could possibly get a Skype update soon. By using the new Xbox model it will be easier to make video calls using your TV. This is a great feature and will enhance the way you communicate to your family members. I cannot wait to see whether all these statements will come true. Time will pass and we are going to see if the men at Microsoft can make these things feasible. I really admire the effort made by Microsoft in an effort to remain competitive in the marketplace of mobile devices. It will be a fantastic thing if they will be able to promote their new products that use the new Skype software.
