Celebrate Kwanzaa With Fun Party Games For The Young To The Older Party Guests Can Enjoy

Kwanzaa means "first" and it celebrates the tradition of fruits in Africa during a seven-day holiday. When your celebration includes games for all to participate in, any party becomes more fun. Include a host party games that the youngest to the oldest celebrant can participate in. Be sure to include various games while choosing your Kwanzaa party supplies and invitations.

Seven Principles of Kwanzaa Word Scramble. This is a fun game for the young ones at the Kwanzaa celebration. The object of the game is to scramble the seven principles of Kwanzaa Party Supplies that include: December 26: Umoja ( Unity ) - light the black candle, December 27: Kujichagulia ( Self-Determination ) - light the red candle, December 28: Ujima ( Collective work and responsibility ) - light the red candle, December 29: Ujaama ( Collective Economics ) - light the red candle, December 30: Nia ( Purpose ) - light the green candle, December 31: Kuumba ( Creativity ) - light the green candle, January 1: Imani ( Faith ) - light the green candle. Use the meaning of the words as part of the game, after each word is unscrambled. Each player will need pencils and paper to unscramble the words. Players can draw a line to the matching words. Alongside the words place the definitions as well. Players must draw a line of the definitions to the correct spellings.

Puzzles With African Themes. Print out and cut out the various countries of Africa. The object of this game is to piece together Africa correctly.

Scramble the Picture. Print out and mix up various Kwanzaa imagery. The object of the game is to match the imagery to create the symbols of Kwanzaa. Cut out picture of various objects and scenes and give to the children to piece together in a fun puzzle game. There are many Kwanzaa symbols such as: Mkeka-a mat. The mat represents a firm foundation. Mazao - Fruits and vegetables, represents the harvest and the working together of people. This is what the corn, the kinara and the unity cup are placed on. Benara ya Taifa Flag. Its colors are red, black, and green. Karamu - A feast that takes place on the 6th night of Kwanzaa, December 31. Kiombe cha umoja - The unity cup. All drink from this cup because it emphasizes the value of unity in the family and community. Muhindi - Corn, represents children. One ear of corn is provided for each child member of the family.

Homemade African Masks. It's fun to create African masks, so have your guests create their own. Families who know their African tribe descendents can recreate their native masks.

Kwanzaa is that time when celebrants reflect on the basic principles, share and enjoy the fruits of labor, and recommit for better life for family, community, and people in general.
